Congratulations to Laura Charles who was selected to receive the "Tottie Ellis Award" for 2008. The award was presented to her in Washington, DC at the Eagle Council meeting. This is a scholarship to attend Eagle Council given to a bright, accomplished and dedicated young woman to encourage her to take her place of leadership in the world of conservative politics.

This is a make your own sundae served with cookies and brownies.

The cost is $5.00 per person with a maximun of $20.00 per family.

There will be several guest speakers including Mike Farmer and Ken Yager.

HARRIMAN, TN – Tennessee 12th District State Senate candidate Ken Yager issued the following statement regarding his endorsement by Tennessee Right to Life:

I am humbled by today’s endorsement of my candidacy by Tennessee Right to Life. This organization is the leader for the Pro-Life cause in Tennessee and their support confirms that I am 100% Pro-Life.

Earlier this year, during my campaign announcement, I conveyed my belief that the State of Tennessee must take seriously its responsibility to protect life at all stages, especially the unborn and the elderly. As a State Senator I will work hard to ensure that the inalienable right to life for the most vulnerable of our citizens is protected as guaranteed by our Constitution.

-June Meeting has been cancelled. The RCRW is instead invited to attend Ken Yager's fundraiser at Whitestone Inn on Thursday June 26th. Louise Dice is coordinating this event for the RCRW, so please contact her for details.

-RCRW July 24 meeting (6:00pm) will be a meet the candidates night at Kingston Community Center. An opportunity for voters to meet candidates before they cast their votes in the primary and enjoy a covered dish meal.

-Mark your calendar for the evening of August 14, 2008 for the RCRW Ice Cream Social at the Kingston Communtiy Center. More details to come.

Ladies Day on the Hill

You certainly won't want to miss this event! Registration and breakfast begins at 8:00am outside the Senate Chambers. Events in the House Chambers begin at 9:00am. The keynote speaker will be Shirley Sadler, President of the National Federation of Republican Women. Attendees are asked to wear red, white and blue.

The cost to attend is $35 per person, and includes continental breakfast, hill events, full 3 course luncheon and luncheon events including a special gift! Once we know who is attending from our area, we will make arrangements for people who want to carpool.

Please make checks payable to RCRW and send them to Becky by March 21st so we can get them in by the deadline. If you don't have Becky's address, contact Louise or I, and we will give it to you.

February Meeting

Our February meeting was absolutely wonderful! We had an enthusiastic crowd, and enjoyed a productive meeting. I want to thank all of you who attended, those who helped clean up and especially those who brought the delicious food! Jack Stockton was a marvelous speaker and I believe everyone learned something that we didn't know about law enforcement in our county. Those of you who were unable to make it, I hope you will be able to attend when Jack returns, as he assured us he would be willing to do in the future.

Our next meeting will be March 27th, and I am sure it will be just as interesting as the last one, so be sure join us!
